Here I am again! Art spamming you with
spn_bigpretzel nonsense - but we all need some more fun in our lives, right?
firesign10's charming (and I mean in the literal sense --- poor Sammy) ficlet, Of Radishes and Dreams, is the perfect antidote to downheartedness. Go read it forthwith!
And here's the banner art - yup, I'm afraid there are more BUTTS!

Do you think I'm becoming cliched?
Some in progress shots
The initial sketching out of the idea

Then I decided the composition would look better if I moved Dean and Sam closer together (purely for aesthetic purposes, obviously!)

I used a season 7 screen shot of Sam's face for a ref, but no face ref for Dean (which is probably a mistake LOL)

Date: 2015-06-26 02:44 pm (UTC)And thanks re the linework - I feel all the time I'm really struggling with it. I saw on a forum the other day someone critisising another person's work for chicken scratching and thought dammit, that's what I do! Can't do the drawing from the shoulder thing at all. I want it to be so much more sweeping and confident, you know?

Just chicken-scratch with authority! ;)
All that being said, I do know how satisfying it is to see and execute (sometimes properly!) those flowing lines. I waffle between scratching and flowing. BECAUSE I CAN'T DO ONE THING EVER. You gotta find your happy place. And then once you do, something else comes along to make you want to change it.
'Tis our lot in life!

Date: 2015-06-27 02:30 am (UTC)I love seeing the work in progress pieces that artists sometimes share. I can't art (and really wish I could!) so seeing the way the art works progress is really interesting to me! :)

Plus, it complements the story perfectly. ♥
