I don't have much to post this time, as I forgot to record any in progress stuff. Just the one picture, from the dramatic start of Jensen's story. Never fear, this is meanttobe, after all - happy endings guaranteed!

2021 meanttobe slightly green

Pencil, a touch of fineliner and watercolour.

I woke up too soon this morning.

I was in the middle of a dream about a (kind of???!!) convention panel, probably prompted by all the talk of solo panels we've had recently, because Jensen was on his own.

He was also totally naked, and we were all lying down in sleeping bags on the floor while he wandered about in all his golden glory, totally nonchalant. Got to say it was a FINE display. Phwoar, he has a peachy arse.

I think we got to ask him questions but at one point he was looking out of a window then suddenly asked us "What do you think - Jared and Jensen - the Movie?" Obviously we were delighted but I had to pipe up with 'Yes, before your bodies go to pot'. Jensen gave me one of his patented Jensen looks, and I then compounded my embarrassment by saying I hoped it would be adult rated. LOL

I think Jared would have appeared next so I'm sad I woke up at that point.

I only submitted one prompt to the j2_reversebang this year and was lucky enough to have the lovely merenwen76 choose my Witchy Jared. I was delighted when she came up with an idea I hadn't thought of, and created a whole world based on the image. If you like fantasy AUs, you'll love this charming world. Merenwen has given us the cutest magic potion as an antidote to this topsy turvy real life we're living.

Dream me is strange.

I had a lot of sleep yesterday after having my tooth out – napping for a couple of hours during the day then going to bed earlier than usual so I think I got about nine hours last night. Nine hours in which to dream about a stray hamster with long whiffly shrew-like nose and peanuts that grew in edible spherical pods on trees (even though waking me knows perfectly well they are called groundnuts for a reason).

But the surprising cuteness of the long-nosed hamster wasn’t the best part. Nope, the best bit was just before I woke up.

I've been working on sculpture trail designs for a while now with lots of deadlines coming up, and I'm feeling all designed out. So last night I started an experimental coloured pencil drawing of Jensen, from the photo on the cover of the calendar the lovely Viv gave me for Christmas. I'd bought an indigo Derwent Procolour sample pencil for a penny as an add on to an order for various other art supplies, so thought I might as well use it.
I rather like it!

I added the reds, yellows and oranges from a Prismacolour set, and decided to stop while I was winning. LOL

Ages ago there was a meme on tumblr (or somewhere) to take an old drawing/painting and try doing it again to see what differences there are, if any, in your style, competency, etc. I'd been meaning to have a go at this challenge for ages, then for some reason this old drawing from 2012 got my attention, so...Remix time!

Here's the old pencil drawing which is fiddled with in photoshop or GIMP, because I remember the eyes were in the wrong place. I know I added white highlights too, and some digital shading.( Read more... )

Leaving to catch our flight home in a bit, but I thought I'd post this as when I arrive home I'll be busy uploading vids and photos that I haven't been able to do here because the hotel wifi is woefully inadequate.

Victor and Reidy were a few minutes west of Teec Nos Pos on the US-160 when the reports came in of a shooting near Yah-Tah-Hey. The FBI wouldn’t normally be interested in disputes on Reservation land, but Victor exchanged a significant look with Reidy when the details filtered through. The report mentioned three things that got Victor’s pulse racing - a weird blue light; an apparent miracle; and last but not least, two male suspects taking off from the scene in a black classic car which might have been a Chevy Impala.
